According to Action Fraud, the UK’s national reporting centre for fraud and internet crime, one in four businesses is affected by fraud every year. In 2017, fraud cost UK businesses £190billion. Fraud is a crime involving misrepresentation, trickery, scams, imposters or deceit. Fraud almost always involves money, either directly or indirectly. No loss needs to occur for an offence of fraud to have been committed. This guide has been produced to help businesses identify and report different types of fraud.
