Patrick Holdaway

The National Business Crime Centre is led by Supt. Patrick Holdaway from the City of London Police supported by PS Paul Fagg from the MPS and Jason Dean, on secondment from the Security Industry Authority.    

Patrick Holdaway is a Superintendent from the City of London Police and has led the National Business Crime Centre (NBCC) since December 2018.  Patrick joined Hampshire Constabulary in 1995 and worked in various operational strategic roles, in 2014 he became the first business crime lead for the force.  During this time Patrick set up the Safer Hampshire Business Partnership and delivered on a number of initiatives to support businesses which were recognised as best practice across policing.

Patrick has a Master in Business Administration and in 2019 was awarded a Certificate in Business Continuity by CBCI.  In December 2021 Patrick was recognised by the industry and inducted into the Hall of Fame at the Retail Risk Awards.  During his time at the NBCC, Patrick has worked across policing and government to raise the issues that affect business, in particular working to prevent violence, tackle organised crime whilst developing and sharing best practice.  Patrick played a pivotal role as the business engagement lead, supporting OP Talla, the national policing response to Covid-19, during which they supported a wide range of business sectors and influenced national policy to protect businesses at a time of national crisis.
