Data Sharing
The need to share data has never been as important as it is today. Many businesses in their efforts to fight crime and reduce risk have created their own intelligence hubs, allowing for the identification of prolific offenders along with emerging threats and trends. Current legislation makes it very difficult for this information to be shared in the interest of public safety and to prevent and detect crime.

The NBCC has worked with colleagues from the NPCC to deliver an Information Sharing Agreement with the National Business Crime Solution (NBCS), allowing the police, in certain circumstances to share data with the NBCS to protect businesses and their employees. This we hope, will be the first of many such agreements allowing greater partnership working between business and police.
The NBCC have been working with the Home Office and the Information Commissioners Office to develop a range of products to help better facilitate information sharing and provide guidance to protect data and ensure public confidence.
