In the 2022 Cyber Security Breaches Survey it was reported that in the last 12 months, 39% of UK businesses identified a cyber-attack with the real figure likely to be much higher due to under-reporting. Businesses face the same threat from fraud where the impact can ruin them.

The threat of a cyber-attack and fraud is increasing and impacts businesses and organisation of all sizes and across all industries. The average cost of a cyber-attack for a smaller business is £4200 with the cost to medium and large businesses rising to £19,400 and that doesn’t take into account the potential damage to the businesses reputation and loss of confidence from clients and consumers.

The NBCC has pulled together some of the national resources available to support business owners with staff training and awareness, practical cyber security and fraud prevention guidance, access to affordable services and tools to make a business more resilient to cybercrime and fraud.
