NCSC Small Business Guide: Cyber Security

Cybercrime is an increasing and very real threat for businesses of all sizes and from all industries. Recent statistics report that four in ten businesses (39%) and a quarter of charities (26%) report having cyber security breaches or attacks in the last 12 months. 

Despite it being such a significant threat, many businesses owners do not realise their business could be a target and may find cyber security a little bit daunting. To help demystify cyber security for small business owners The National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC) has produced a handy guide for business owners to help them improve cyber security though affordable practical advice.

The guide is available online and to download and focuses on 5 quick and easy steps which will significantly improve a businesses cyber resilience:

Step 3 - Keeping your smartphones (and tablets) safe

Step 4 - Using passwords to protect your data

Step 5 - Avoiding phishing attacks
