Report Fraud
Report Fraud is the UK’s national reporting centre for where you should report cyber crime and fraud if you have been scammed, defrauded or experienced cyber crime in England, Wales and Northern Ireland.
It provides a central point of contact for information about fraud and financially motivated internet crime.
The service is run by the City of London Police working alongside Report Fraud Analysis Services who are responsible for assessment of the reports and to ensure that your fraud reports reach the right place. The City of London Police is the national policing lead for economic crime.
There are ten ROCU’s across England and Wales that have a range of specialist policing capabilities, and this includes a dedicated cyber security team that works with businesses, organisations, and communities to promote the steps that we think will reduce the chances of becoming a victim of cybercrime.
The ROCUs, and their counterparts in Scotland and Northern Ireland, regularly work with SMEs, charities, and representative organisations in response to specific threats and can provide support in the event of a cyber incident, irrespective of whether a formal police investigation exists.

According to the 2023 Crime Survey for England and Wales, 1 in 17 adults in England & Wales were victims of fraud. Anybody can be at risk of fraud, no matter your background, age or race. Report fraud & cyber crime to Report Fraud
You can report cyber crime or fraud using our online reporting service any time of the day or night; the service enables you to both report a fraud and find help and support. We also provide help and advice over the phone through the Report Fraud contact centre. You can talk to our cyber crime and fraud specialists by calling 0300 123 2040.
When you report to us you will receive a police crime reference number. Reports taken are passed to Report Fraud Analysis Services. Report Fraud does not investigate the cases and cannot advise you on the progress of a case.
Report Fraud help victims of fraud
If you have been exposed to fraudulent activity, our Victim Support team are on hand to provide the guidance and support needed to move forward. This is a completely free and confidential service available to everyone in England & Wales who are victims of fraud.
