NBCC Lead Commended for his Work During the Pandemic
The National Business Crime Centre is delighted to announce that NBCC lead, Superintendent Patrick Holdaway, has been commended for his outstanding contributions to the national pandemic response for policing at the National Op Talla Awards.
Superintendent Holdaway was part of the ‘Police Food and Retail Liaison Team’ during Covid, a group of five people who worked with business, government and policing providing expert guidance and consistency during the Covid-19 pandemic.
The team represented UK policing and engaged with retailers and business groups, developed appropriate guidance on operational protocols to keep customers and staff safe, as well as bespoke guidance to the tourism and hospitality sector on safe reopening. This engagement reduced the demand on policing and provided high levels of confidence to the industries and consumers.
Superintendent Holdaway was presented with his commendation by the Chair of the National Police Chief’s Council Assistant Commissioner Martin Hewitt QPM and Assistant Chief Constable Owen Weatherill, National Mobilisation Coordinator, NPoCC - Op Talla Silver.
On receiving his commendation Superintendent Holdaway said: “I am genuinely honoured to have received this commendation and feel grateful to have been part of the national policing response to an unprecedented set of challenges. Every single day policing and partners worked together as part of Operation Talla to keep people safe and in our case, support the retailers and businesses working on the front line.”
