Police forces prepare for Safer Business Action Week 2026
Police forces across the country are preparing to take part in Safer Business Action (SaBA) Week 2026, taking place from 9th – 15th November, with a range of activities planned to tackle retail crime, protect shop workers, and make businesses safer.
For the first time, the NBCC, Association of Convenience Stores (ACS), USDAW and the Retail Trust are bringing four national campaigns together to help protect retail workers from violence, abuse, and intimidation.
Throughout the week, police forces will work alongside retailers, Business Crime Reduction Partnerships (BCRPs), and local partners to deliver targeted action against retail crime and anti-social behaviour.
Planned activities include increased police patrols in retail areas, visits to local businesses, crime prevention advice, targeted enforcement against repeat offenders and community engagement events.
For example, Cambridgeshire Constabulary has planned retailer visits, and retail crime enforcement operations, while Gloucestershire Constabulary will be carrying out joint patrols and business engagement activities in Cheltenham and Gloucester.
Other forces, including West Midlands Police, Surrey Police and South Yorkshire Police, have also outlined plans for targeted patrols, retailer engagement, and action against prolific offenders.
Business Crime Reduction Partnerships (BCRPs) across the country have also shared their planned activities for SaBA Week, highlighting the important role they play in supporting local businesses and working with police to tackle retail crime.
SaBA Week highlights the importance of police, businesses and local partners working together to reduce crime and create safer environments for retail workers and customers.
The National Business Crime Centre (NBCC) has brought together an overview of the activities planned by police forces and partnerships across the country.
