Rachael Rowlands

Sergeant Rachael Rowlands joins the National Business Crime Centre from Surrey Police, where she has served since 2004, bringing with her 22 years of policing experience.

During her career, Rachael has worked across a broad range of roles, from frontline policing to specialist surveillance teams. Between 2010 and 2014, she took a four-year hiatus to serve with the Royal Cayman Islands Police, where she was part of the Serious Crime Task Force, focusing primarily on the investigation of armed robberies.

In recent years, Rachael has worked as a problem-solving sergeant, leading initiatives to address persistent and complex local issues. She has also supported Surrey Police's business crime portfolio, working closely with partners to tackle retail crime and associated harm.

She now joins the National Business Crime Centre to focus exclusively on business crime, bringing with her a strong problem-solving ethos, and a commitment to partnership working and crime prevention.

In her spare time, Rachael is a published author on the subject of addiction and hopes to bring this knowledge to her work, with a particular focus on understanding the links between addiction and retail crime, including the drivers behind shoplifting.
