The Deputy Head of the National Business Crime Centre is Inspector Titus Halliwell who joins us from the Metropolitan Police Service.
Before joining the NBCC, Titus was head of the central Metropolitan Police Business Crime Team supporting Retailers, Business Improvement Districts, Business Crime Reduction Partnerships and their wider business partners with strategic engagement and the improvement of Met’s performance in tackling retail crime and harm.
Titus was originally a Special Constable with the Met before joining West Midlands Police in 1997 as regular. He transferred to Avon and Somerset Constabulary in 2002 and returned back to the Met in 2005. Titus’s career has been mainly uniform based but with periods of managing proactive Teams. In the last few years, his career has seen him working in the Force Control Room managing the 999 Call Centres performance and increasing the number of Community Based Volunteers supporting the Met.
In 2011, Titus was the overall winner of the international Herman Goldstien Police Problem Solving Award for his work in tackling cycle theft in London. This has led to his ancillary role as the National Police Chiefs Council - Lead for Cycle Theft Reduction.
Titus joins us with a passion for crime prevention, problem solving and designing out crime.
